Momentous Day

Anyone that knows Hans knows that he loves to fish. The day I found out I was pregnant, he was outside working on his new boat (only days old to him) when I took the test (he didn't know I was testing). I went outside and asked him if he was going to take his kid fishing--that's how I told him. Well, this weekend he finally did. Not in the boat, but at a local lake with Siena's rod that was given to her before she could walk. All three of us had an awesome time. And caught lots of little sunfish for Siena to reel in!

Spring Cleaning & Rewards for Hard Work

This past weekend we went down to Rehoboth to visit the family "Hokie Hotel"--our trailer that's retired to a campground.

This year Siena was old enough to help work!
She and Hans scrubbed the motorhome while I blew leaves into a giant pile for Siena to jump into!

She was rewarded with beach! (albeit a bit chilly in the water) - she didn't care.

And her very first marshmallow roast!!

Pop visits

Hans's dad came up for the annual fishing trip and got lots of QT with Siena. I did a very poor job of taking pictures, but they played in the backyard a ton and Siena took Pop to see the dolphins at the aquarium.
He and Hans were going to take her fishing at a local lake, but the weather did not cooperate. Next time!

Young Lady

We got professional pictures made for Mother's Day. We tried this last year without great success, but this time Siena did everything the photographer asked at they came out really well. Yay!
What these pictures make abundantly clear is that she is her own little person now. Gone is the little baby, now we want to do everything "all by myself!" and CAN actually do quite a lot. We've retired the highchair to the attic and sippy cups are just for non-table time. We can brush our teeth (sort of), squeeze the toothpaste onto the tube, put on our crocs, and the list goes on and on.
She's pretty opinionated and stubborn, but also sweet, funny and incredibly observant.

Avon Walk 2009

Saturday Siena, Mom and I spent the day cheering on the walkers for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This is actually Siena's 3rd year cheering! Decked out in her awesome Minnie hat (a gift from Grandma and Pop) to match JoJo's Minnie costume, she handed out candy and cheered up many a weary walker. We had a great time. Go walkers!!

She made as much noise as she could!

Picnic with Minnie.
