Happy 6-month birthday, Siena!

How has it been 6 months? Siena is growing so fast and turning into a little person. We went to the beach last weekend and she got to try out her baby backpack that her Uncle Daniel bought her. She LOVED riding in the backpack and really enjoyed our walk on the beach. This may be my favorite picture of her so far.

Siena liked the big person swing almost as much as her own, plus here, she gets her own giant teddy (hansy) bear!

Did Fisher Price think of this?

Siena loves her bouncy chair. Normally she sits back, kicks her feet and loves the ride. Today she grabbed hold of the sides of the attachment that sits above her, pulled herself up and started sucking on the plastic. Poor kid's teething like crazy. Not sure Fisher Price anticipated this move! Clearly she'll be sitting up on her own soon!

Pop!

Hans's Dad came up a few weeks ago for the annual Macho Man Fishing Trip (my own title--no girls allowed). He stayed for a few days extra to help with the porch project and hang with his princess, as he calls her. She taught him how to pick up her toys after she's thrown them from her highchair and enjoyed Pop time!

Happy Feet!

Sorry I have been failing as a blogger mommy. So here's a bunch of posts to update you! Siena is doing wonderfully. In the past few days she discovered her feet. Boy do they taste good!! She's loving her squished solid food too. We think she may be beginning to cut teeth, but her discomfort seems to come and go. She has mastered the art of rolling over, but not getting back to her back after the roll--this makes her mad. All in all everything's going great. She so happy and sweet. We are truly blessed.

Star Cheerer at Avon Walk

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer was this weekend. This would have been my 6th year walking, but I realized that it was going to be impossible for me to walk a marathon while nursing (can't you just turn this milk machine off??). I still fundraised (we have about $5000 to date--it's not too late to give!--click here) and spent the weekend cheering on the street and honking the horn at weary walkers to pep them up. My mom has done this for the past few years and dresses up as Minnie Mouse to be silly. So this year, Siena got to be Minnie too. The 3,100 walkers loved her. She had quite a fan base! Go walkers!!! (We have raised over 7 million dollars this year!)

Head Lift

This is not a good picture, but it does show you how strong she has gotten. She seems to hate being on her belly less and less and has even fallen asleep on her tummy a few times. I fear take off is not too far away!

The Great Food Experiment Continues

Siena has now had rice cereal, bananas and sweet potatoes. She's getting the hang of it and eagerly opens her mouth. When we're done I let her play with the spoon and the bowl which she loves.

A visit to Grandma Beck

My dad, Siena and I took a 3-day round trip to Wilmington, NC, April 27-29, to visit my grandmother who hasn't been feeling great. Siena did about as well as could be expected on the 8+ hour car ride. Baby time proved to be great medicine for Grandma. Siena just layed in her lap for quite a while which she doesn't often do. She must have known Grandma needed some snuggles.
