More Merry Goodness

We continued our Christmas festivities at my folks' house Christmas day. Siena had a blast with all the wrappings! Here she is with my mom feeling merry.

This weekend we visited Hans's PA relatives and some friends and had a blast (but didn't take many pictures!) Thanks to everyone for the nice gifts (even those left at certain people's houses... Sorry!) We spent Saturday with Hans's grandmother, Mam. Siena entertained Mam's friends where she lived. Here Mam's giving Siena a ride out!

Happy Ho Ho!

Christmas morning has been really fun. Siena doesn't really understand, but does know that there's lots of fun stuff to play with. Thanks Grandma and Pop Lemke for all the fun gifts!

Merry almost Christmas!

We have lots of visiting planned for Christmas week and Siena's hoping that Santa will come visit her even though she's cried and screamed the 2 times she's seen him. We hope you all have (or have had) wonderful holidays!! Love to you all!

Putting up the Tree

We finally got some holiday spirit this weekend. Hans and Siena have both been sick much of December, but now we are all healthy (knock on wood) and finally got to get our Christmas tree. Siena loved unpacking the ornaments and shaking the boxes. She is fascinated by all the lights and loves to rock and clap to Christmas carols!

Family resemblance

No, this is not an artful picture of Siena with some random pretty lady. This is actually Hans with his aunt, Pat. We were floored by how much Siena looks like him in this picture. Now we know where she got her chipmunk cheeks (and her obsession with buttons). Thank you Pat and Chris for sending us this!

So big!

Siena had her 1 year check-up and is doing great. She weighs 21 lbs. 13 oz (60%)and is 30" tall (75%). She has 2 teeth and has graduated from baby food to pick-up big kid food! She seems like she may take off walking any minute (no pressure!). She cruises around from object to object and loves her push walker. She'll pace the house pushing this thing for ages (which is exhausting for us because she always runs into the wall so we have to follow her!) She speaks excellent gibberish, but does do an excellent "Hi" with a wave, Da Da, Ma Ma (almost always while whining), & ball. She's a genius!

Happy Birthday, Siena!

We celebrated Siena's first birthday and Thanksgiving in Florida with Hans's family. Siena did incredibly well in the car from College Park to Richmond, Richmond to Wilmington and Wilmington to Pine Island. Siena had loads of fun at the beach, playing with Mango the giant dog and on her birthday she had a blast with balloons and her own Turkey cake. Click here to see more!

To and from

We drove rather leisurely to and from Florida, stopping in Richmond and Wilmington on the way down and Savannah and Richmond on the way back. We had great visits with my grandmothers. Siena entertained all the residents of Grandma's home by making good use of Grandma's walker. We stopped in Richmond on the way home and Siena had birthday party number 2, complete with very cool party hat! Click here to see more!

Birthday party #3!

OK, maybe Siena's a little spoiled... Since only my mom was at the Richmond birthday celebration, we had to have another in Baltimore so my Dad and my brother could celebrate too! She actually had a few other celebrations as well (without cake)--thanks so much to everyone who remembered her 1st big day!! I am still bugging her to get those thank you notes written!!

Hokie Hokie Hokie High!

While Siena played with her new toys, the grown-ups watched Virgina Tech win the ACC championship. My brother's good friends John and Corrin brought their son, Jackson, and he and Siena were the poster children for Future Hokies of America! Thanks Dinelle for the awesome Hokie gear!
