Best beach day ever!

Siena celebrated her 10 month birthday weekend at the beach. Now that she is a super expert crawler she took her skills to the surf. Not only did she crawl down into the surf like during our Potomac trip a few weeks ago, but she also took off--crawling as fast as she could down the beach (we got there right after a monsoon which chased everyone else away so the beach was empty!). Hans crawled behind her and we both played sheriff--trying to keep her from eating rocks!

A new room for play!

This past week Hans finally finished our screen porch. He started in in January(!), but winter, eye problems, work, baby, and life got in the way. We all love it--especially Siena who now has her very own swing. We discovered a few weeks ago that she loves swings and she's a dare-devil--she loves to go high and fast! We're hoping for a warm fall so we can enjoy the porch for a while! (You may also notice Siena's red cheek--we had our first real boo boo. Crawling and standing leads to tumbles and she took one into a table corner. Poor bitty!)

First tailgate!

Ta Da!

Siena's been pulling up and standing for a few weeks now. She's gotten quite expert at it, especially so she could get to her activity table which she digs.

Happy Girl!

We just got back from a long Labor day weekend at our friend's, the Carters, cottage on the Northern Neck of Virginia. My parents have brought Daniel and I there our whole lives (the Carters are grade school friends of our parents), so it's really cool to now share it with my daughter! We're always so grateful to the Carters for sharing this little piece of heaven with us!

Obviously the 'Rivah' air agreed with Siena.

First Boat Ride!

Hans spent a good deal of the weekend catching lots of Spanish Mackerel with the guys. After a day of fishing he picked Siena and I up and we took her on her first spin in Daddy's boat, the Morsax. She didn't really know what to think of it--especially the giant life vest she had to wear, but I think she had fun. She can't wait for dad to teach her to fish!!!

Up!

Siena is now crawling very well and can pull up to her knees and seems close to being able to pull up all the way. If you hold her, she can stand pretty well for a few minutes as Mom demonstrates here!

Who needs a bathing suit?

I was walking with Siena by the water's edge one night and she was so eager to get down and play in the sand that I just let her. She loves to play in the sand and even crawled down into the surf. The kid has no fear!
