2 year Check-up

Thursday we took Siena for the 2 year check-up. All's well, but we were astounded by how much she has grown--5 inches in 6 months! She is now 37-1/4" long which is off the growth chart for her age! She's in the 95 percentile for weight (31 lbs. or so). Since her weight percentile is below her height she's technically skinny. The doctor and I had a chuckle at that because sweet Siena is anything but skinny!

The one concern that the doc does have is that she has developed an allergy to cinnamon. So should you be with her...no cinnamon, nuts, fish or shellfish for her. We're trying to be super cautious since I have annoying food allergies that cause me to cease breathing!

She's doing great developmentally and is a whirlwind of fun. She's talking a great deal and putting 2 word phrases together. Her favorites tend to be a bit bossy like: "Read it" or "Get up." She's good at letting us know what she wants. :) She has recently gotten really good at please, thank you, hugs and Eskimo kisses, so it all evens out.

Last week she started in the Twos room at daycare. No longer a toddler... It has been a bit of an adjustment because she adores her Toddler teachers (as do we) and she gets upset when she sees them and can't go with them. But before long I know she'll be devoted to her new caregivers. Her biggest issue at the moment is that there are a few sinks and a water fountain in the new room which she keeps getting into, much to the teachers' chagrin. She'll figure it all out soon I am sure.
